PI Arcade Controller

For this CSAI project, we made an arcade controller using a Raspberry Pi with some buttons. To make the controller, we made a box to hold the Pi and all of its components. After that, we downloaded a special file that will configure the Pi to display a game system. Inside the box, I wired the buttons through each other so the circuit circles around all the buttons to send signals to the Pi. At this step, I was done, so I then go on to connecting an HDMI cable to a monitor and testing the configuration.

This is where things started to not function correctly.

After I got all of the parts together for the box and Pi, the Pi would not display the game system that was downloaded on the SD card. I tried to troubleshoot all the steps that were given and anything I thought of and nothing would work. For this reason, I had to disband this assignment because of the problems. In fact, this problem was even happening in school, so it is not that school had any difference.

In the future, it would be cool to recreate this project and retry it. I thought this project was cool because it was a great introduction to coding boards and how they work.

Pixelating Painting Game

The main idea of my game is a maze game based on the comic assignment we had to complete in Design Tech. For this game, you are a tourist exploring this art museum. Suddenly, the world starts to break down and pixelated. You have to collect and keep the paintings safe before the world pixelates. To win, you have to collect 7 paintings in 50 seconds before the world pixelates. The only way to lose is if you run out of time. The problem is that the paintings are secured with a number code. When you try and collect the paintings, you have to input the number displayed above the keypad into the keypad.

The reason I chose this idea is that recently Among Us, a videogame has got popular. It is a party game that is easy to collaborate with friends and find the imposter. Nevertheless, one of the tasks you need to complete in Among Us is keying in a code. I got inspired by this and also wanted to include the Comic because I enjoyed it.

The biggest challenge while creating this game was making the keypad mechanic in the game. It was still fun to make because I knew I could make it work.

Overall, I enjoyed making this game, and I hope you like to play it!

You can play the game in the simulator below. I will also include the code.

This is also the link to the code if the simulator does not load: Game

Chase the Indian Food Coding Project

Hi! In CSAI class, we learned how to get used to the MakeCode interface. For my version of the MakeCode tutorial, Chase the Pizza, I made Chase the Indian Food. If you did not know, I am Indian, so I put the food I like from the Indian food spectrum.

The main objective of this game is to collect as much Idli, Gulab Jamun, and Curry, which are all types of Indian food, and run away from vegetables, which I don’t like. Use the arrow keys to collect the food and run away from the vegetables. The vegetable will always follow your position, so make sure you do not get eaten by vegetables!

This game was pretty fun to make because it challenged my brain to think of the different foods and mechanics. Other than that, it was pretty easy, in a way. This game was based on the tutorial, Chase the Pizza, but it was fun to make because of the tailored personality of me. I like certain Indian foods, and so I put some of those foods in this game. One thing that was challenging for me was the different random positions of when you touch the foods.

One future iteration I would put on this game is to make it so that the random position of the food would not be the actual character. For example, when you collect food, the food might land on your player as its random position. Other than that, this game was fun to make, and I liked the challenges in my way.

HAVE FUN!

Welcome!

Hi, my name is Aneesh. I am in 8th grade and I go to Quest Academy. I have been at Quest Academy for three years. My favorite subjects are math, science, and P.E. Outside of school I like to play video games with my friends and go on bike rides. Some of my favorite TV shows or movies are High School Musical: The Musical The Series. I liked this show, which is on Disney + because it really showed what high school is and is a lot like the original series of High School Musical. My favorite song is Replay by Iyaz. I really like creating/building things, for example, building a PC. I have played the flute since I was 5. My favorite food/candy is anything chocolate. Hope you like the things I post!
